Hao Zhang

Hao Zhang is a PhD candidate in political science at MIT. His research interests include the politics of global production networks, state-business relations, and applied statistical models. His dissertation examines how the rise of global value chains reshapes trade coalitions and trade lobbying within and across national borders, with a regional focus on China and the US. A related stream of his research investigates the political foundations of China’s rise in global value chains. His work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science and the Chinese Journal of International Politics. Personal Website
