William D. O’Connell is a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University’s Center for Political Economy. His book project focuses on the management of international financial crises and the interplay between technocratic and political cooperation. His other research projects focus on the political economy of financial regulation, EU integration, and the rise of China. He has written op-eds and made several media appearances discussing cryptocurrency regulation, the failures of FTX, Credit Suisse, and Silicon Valley Bank, as well as a variety of other economic policy issues.
